Measles Screening
Pennsylvania is experiencing a significant measles outbreak, and PDM/PDFP is implementing screening and response procedures to reduce the risk of exposure. Patients and accompanying persons will be screened for recent measles exposure and compatible symptoms at facility entrances.

Within the past 21 days, have you been diagnosed with measles, been in close contact with someone with measles, or been notified that you may have been exposed to measles?

Do you currently have, or have you recently had, a fever or felt feverish?

Do you currently have a cough, runny nose, or red/watery eyes?

Do you currently have a new or unexplained rash, particularly one that began on your face/head and spread downward, or have you noticed small white spots inside your mouth/cheeks?
Patient Instruction
If you answer YES to a recent measles exposure, or if you have fever, rash, cough, runny nose, or red/watery eyes, please contact the security desk before entering the lobby or clinic. Do not enter a waiting area until staff provide instructions.
A positive screen does not establish a measles diagnosis. It triggers further clinical/public-health assessment and allows us to avoid unnecessary exposure of other patients and personnel.
