Established in 1878, Penn Dental Medicine is among the oldest university-affiliated dental institutions in the country with a history deeply rooted in pioneering dental education, research and patients care. PDM is a major provider of care to the Philadelphia community including a dedicated clinic serving persons with disabilities. In 2023, there were nearly 45,000 patient visits to the School and another 6000 visits to satellite community sites. Important discoveries are happening every day at PDM to help advance human health.
