Prosthodontics is an area of dental specialty focused on the restoration and replacement of teeth. A specialist in this area is called a prosthodontist. Prosthodontists go through additional training after general dentistry school in order to provide the highest level of care to patients with missing or significantly damaged teeth.
Patients who have missing or significantly damaged teeth may benefit from the services of a prosthodontist. For some patients, these conditions are the result of congenital defects, while for others they are the result of trauma or neglect. Penn Dental Prosthodontists are skilled in addressing conditions that arise from all such situations.
Prosthodontists focus on replacing or restoring missing or broken teeth. Their restorative services include: bridges, crowns, dentures, dental implants, oral cancer reconstruction, and facial prosthetics.
